Recently, under the guidance of the Ship Survey Office of Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration and the coordination of Guangzhou Maritime Safety Administration, China Classification Society (CCS) Guangzhou Branch has signed the “Memorandum of Cooperation on Jointly Promoting the Overall Classification of Existing Pearl River Night Cruise Ships” with six companies engaged in Pearl River Night Tour in Guangzhou, officially promoting the overall classification of 34 Pearl River cruise ships, which is the first overall classification of cruise ships in China.

 

 

 

It is understood that ship classification is an important means of assessing the technical status of ship safety, and an important reflection of ship safety and credibility. Ship classification can not only ensure that the ships are in good working conditions, reduce the occurrence of accidents, but also enhance the competitiveness of ships in the market and increase the transportation volume of ships. This memorandum has clarified the overall classification scheme of the existing 34 Pearl River night cruise ships, which has integrated the existing Pearl River cruise ships into CCS’s complete classification ship survey and quality service systems of the classification society. CCS will arrange skilled surveyors and mobilize the top experts in various specialties of the classification society system to provide enterprises with all-round technical guidance and professional services, so as to offer better ship safety service guarantees for Pearl River night cruise ships, and improve the intrinsic safety level of ships in a systematic manner.
