CCS provides internationally leading technical rules and standards for ships, offshore installations, containers and related industrial products. Acting as an independent third party, CCS carries out classification surveys in accordance with the highest professional standards. As of September 2026, CCS has surveyed over 36,000 ships of 220 million GT.
Meanwhile, CCS is authorized by the Administrations of major flag States or Regions worldwide to perform statutory surveys on their behalf in accordance with international conventions, codes, and applicable flag State or regional regulations. As of September 2026, CCS has been authorized by the Administrations of 64 major international flag States or Regions worldwide, including the Chinese Government, to perform statutory surveys for the ships and offshore installations flying their flags.
With a focus on green development, safety and intelligent technologies, CCS is dedicated to applied scientific research in maritime safety, digital intelligence, green and low-carbon development, and environmental protection. CCS provides full-life-cycle services for ships, offshore installations and related products, thereby safeguarding life and property and preventing the pollution of water environments, while serving the transport, ocean exploitation, related manufacturing and insurance sectors.
Leveraging advanced technology, high-quality services and a global network, CCS serves a broad range of industries and sectors, including shipping, shipbuilding, shipping finance and insurance, marine equipment, ocean resource development, product and management system certification, inspection, testing and supervision, government policy and regulatory support, as well as energy conservation and emissions reduction. Through our work in safeguarding the safety and sustainable development of these sectors, CCS has earned high recognition from governments and industry stakeholders at home and abroad.

The world's first methanol dual-fuel powered intelligent VLCC “KAI TUO”, surveyed by CCS, has been delivered ahead of schedule. The successful delivery of this vessel is not only a major breakthrough for China's shipbuilding industry in the realm of green and smart transformation, but also a significant achievement of all parties involved in fully implementing the national “dual carbon” strategy and supporting the development of green shipping.

The 20,000 TEU container vessel “COSCO SHIPPING LIBRA”, the first methanol dual-fuel conversion survey project undertaken by CCS, has successfully completed its methanol dual-fuel conversion and been delivered. This conversion project has set multiple industry records, marking the world's largest methanol dual-fuel conversion of an existing vessel to date.

CCS officially signed the Agreement on Authorized Statutory Survey with the Maritime Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait. This milestone marks that CCS has become an officially authorized statutory survey organization by the Kuwaiti government, and is now eligible to provide statutory survey, certification, audit, and related maritime technical services for Kuwait-flagged vessels.

It went on to buy 35,668 items of protective clothing, 11,488 surgical masks, 2,112 pairs of goggles and 62 protective masks for the General Hospital of the Yangtze River Shipping. As the situation in China stabilized it worked to support the international fight against the virus, buying and deploying 14,300 masks, 105 items of protective clothing and 76 pairs of goggles to overseas institutions.
