CCS' Rules for Construction and Survey of Fixed Platforms in Shallow Sea (2004) has been developed and published, these Rules became effective as from 1 July 2004.

These Rules are the first ones in our country on shallow-sea fixed platforms and contain technical requirements for the stages of design, construction, survey and certification of such platforms. The requirements of the Chinese Government and relevant international conventions are incorporated therein. Taken as a whole, these Rules are comprehensive in contents, well operable and convenient for use and reference by all persons concerned.

These Rules appropriately and reasonably embody characteristics of shallow-sea fixed platforms in selecting recurrence interval of environmental conditions, fatigue analysis, lifesaving appliances, electrical installations and automation, general machineries and piping systems, fire and explosion protection. These Rules are distinctive in new contents covering oil storage units, personnel health and protection, etc. and capable of satisfy users?demand for reliability, reasonableness, advancedness and environmental protection.
