Brief Introduction to"Guidelines for Preparation of Loading Manual"

    Guidelines for Preparation of Loading Manual, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Guidelines') is based on CCS Rules and Regulations for the Construction and Classification of Seagoing Steel Ships and Guidelines for Preparation of Loading Manual (1999), includes the provisions of updated IACS URS25, and details the implementation of above-mentioned provisions for facilitating designers' operation.

In addition to the description for general ships, interpretations in the Guidelines are specially made for the provisions and calculation methods for longitudinal strength and local strength to loading limitations of bulk carriers, ore carriers and combination carriers of 150m and over in length, contracted for construction on or after 1 July 2003, intended to be assigned harmonized notations BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, and examples are given, for the purpose of supplying designers with guidance and methods in preparing loading manuals, ship masters with illustrations in operating their ship accordingly, and the Society with basis in examining and approving the loading manuals.
