On March 26, Zhao Yan, President of China Classification Society (CCS), attended the COSCO Shipping Specialized Global Partner Conference 2026 upon invitation.

During the conference, as the representative of key participants, Zhao Yan participated in the Greater Bay Area Consensus initiated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. Centered on the theme "Forging Resilient Chains, Shaping Smart Corridor Consensus", the Consensus embodies the future-oriented shared commitment of all parties. It will serve as an action framework for collaborative development, gathering strong consensus and momentum for the high-quality development of the specialized transportation industry in the Greater Bay Area and globally. This participation has further strengthened the cooperation between CCS and COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, and laid a solid foundation for their in-depth collaboration in fields including technical research and development of specialized vessel types, formulation of green and smart ship standards, and construction of specialized transportation safety systems.

It is reported that the Global Partners Conference, themed "Gloria’s Journey, Future Blaze", also marks the 65th anniversary of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. 65 years ago, the Guangzhou Office of the Register of Shipping of the People's Republic of China (the predecessor of CCS Guangzhou Branch) issued certificates for the M/V Guanghua, thus issuing the first classification certificate and the first set of international voyage statutory certificates in China's ship survey history. Bearing the aspirations of hundreds of millions of people, M/V Guanghua set sail from the banks of the Pearl River, signifying the inception of the ocean shipping industry of the People's Republic of China. In the past 65 years, commencing with the M/V Guanghua, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers has grown from a regional enterprise into a global leader in the specialized transportation sector. In the future, CCS will continue to cooperate with COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. Driven by technological innovation, the two parties will jointly promote the global specialized transportation industry to achieve greater resilience, intelligence, and green development, and contribute to the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains. 

During the event, Su Yangzhou, General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, was also invited to attend and witness the signing ceremony of LOI for COSCO SHIPPING Specialized 60,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels.
