On October 1, the "Three Gorges
Pioneer", the world's first 16-megawatt floating offshore wind power
system demonstration project led by China Three Gorges Corporation, was fully
assembled in Tieshan Port District, Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous
Region. As the largest single-unit capacity floating wind power system
installed globally, this milestone signifies China's offshore wind equipment manufacturing
industry has taken another significant step toward deep-sea development.
The "Three Gorges Linghang" project is
designed and constructed based on the Three Gorges Yangjiang Qingzhou project.
Its core equipment ——16 MW ultra-large capacity wind turbine features a rotor
diameter of 252 meters and a swept area of approximately 50,000 square meters,
equivalent to the size of seven standard football fields. Upon completion, it
is expected to generate an annual power output of about 44.65 million kilowatt-hours.
In this project, the R&D team has developed
mooring polyester fiber cables, fan tooth electric systems, dynamic ballast
control systems and other achievements, achieving 100% localization of key
components, so that the "Three Gorges Pilot" has three
characteristics of green, resilience and intelligence to adapt to the harsh
environment in the deep sea.
It is understood that the Three Gorges Pioneer is the first floating wind power facility in China to be classified by China Classification Society (CCS).
