On March 20, 2024, the naming ceremony of 77000DWT series multi-purpose pulp vessel “GREEN ITAQI” was successfully held at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (DALIAN) Co., Ltd.

On March 20, 2024, the naming ceremony of 77000DWT series multi-purpose pulp vessel “GREEN ITAQI” was successfully held at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (DALIAN) Co., Ltd. It was drawing reviewed and surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS). CCS Vice President Zhao Yan, and Zhang Hui, General Manager of CCS Dalian Branch, etc. attended the naming ceremony.

 

 

 

“GREEN ITAQI” vessel was built by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (DALIAN) Co., Ltd. for SPDB Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. It is classified as a CCS vessel, with CCS Dalian Branch responsible for drawing review and construction survey. This vessel is currently the world’s largest multi-purpose pulp carrier.

 

 

 

The vessel,  225m long, 32.26m wide and 21m deep, has a structural draft of 14.5m, a speed of 15 knots, and a range of 25000 nautical miles. The ship compartments are optimized to 8 cargo holds for more economical and flexible loading of various types of goods. In addition, the cargo holds are also installed with the “foldable special framework for commodity vehicles” independently developed by COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd. to ensure safe transportation of vehicles. The main engine and auxiliary engine of this vessel are equipped with a SCR system to meet the NOx TIER III emission requirements. This vessel is designed according to the “CCS Rules for Green Eco-Ships” and the “CCS Rules for Intelligent Ships”. It is characterized by green, energy-saving and environmental protection design concepts, advanced technology and environmental friendliness. It has an energy efficiency design index EEDI of more than 59% below the baseline value, and has obtained the CCS G-EP and G-ECO signs for green eco-ships.
