China Classification Society (CCS) Issued the Certificate of Product Test and Test Agency Approval to Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL)

On March 25, Zhao Yan, Vice President of China Classification Society (CCS), led a team to visit Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CATL”), issued CCS Certificate of Product Test and Test Agency Approval to its R&D center laboratory, and had in-depth exchanges with Su Yiyi, General Manager of CATL Electric Boat Technology Co., Ltd., Li Wei, Director of CATL Test and Verification Center.

 

 

 

CATL extended a warm welcome to the visit of Zhao Yan and his delegation, and thanked CCS for its continuous support to CATL. CATL has always been committed to providing first-class solutions and services for global new energy applications. It hopes to further accelerate the development and application of marine new energy technologies through in-depth cooperation with CCS, and make greater contributions to high-quality development of the shipping industry.

 

 

 

Zhao Yan expressed his appreciation for the achievements of CATL in the field of scientific and technological innovation, and said that CCS was fortunate to witness the rapid development of CATL from land to sea, from new energy vehicles to new energy ships. The successful completion of this “Product Test and Test Agency Approval” marks a new level of cooperation between CCS and CATL. CCS will continue to leverage its own advantages, uphold the principle of “safety, environmental protection, and creating value for customers and society”, serve the “Electric Fujian” regional strategy, work together with CATL to promote decarbonization in domestic and international shipping and shipbuilding industries, and take the lead in the green development of shipping.

 

 

 

The two sides also made discussions on the rules, standard research, digital inspections, etc. for battery-powered ships. The leaders from the Marine Products Business Department of CCS headquarters, the Technology & Information Department of CCS headquarters, CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute, Fuzhou Branch, etc. accompanied the meeting and certification.
