China Classification Society (CCS) Attended COP28 Conference

On the afternoon of December 9th, local time in Dubai, during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), at the “China Pavilion” Renewable Energy Day Event organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China, a special session on “Outlook on Global Renewable Energy Prospects and Zero-Carbon China” was successfully held at the World Expo City. This Conference was hosted by the Energy Investment professional Committee of the Investment Association of China, with the participation of Li Gao, Vice President, COP28, Member of the Environmental and Resource Protection Committee of the National People’s Congress, and Neil Bush, Chairman, George H.W. Bush Foundation for US-China Relations, and numerous domestic and foreign energy enterprises, research institutes, and investment and financing institutions. Fan Qiang, Vice President of China Classification Society (CCS), was invited to attend the conference and give a keynote speech.

 

 

 

With the theme “Reshaping the World’s Energy,Envisioning a Zero-Carbon Future”, key issues including energy transformation, renewable energy industry, international cooperation, energy investment, green finance, zero carbon development, etc. were further discussed at this conference, calling on the international community to shift from commitment to action and jointly promote innovation and sustainable development of renewable energy.

 

CCS has achieved positive results in addressing climate change with standards and guiding various social entities to promote emission reduction and decarbonization in a steady and orderly manner through a systematic standard system. CCS is the editor in chief of the “Zero-Carbon China” standards. Vice President Fan Qiang stated that standards are the universal language of the world, which play an important role in promoting global connectivity. CCS is committed to promoting innovation and application of green and low-carbon technologies through standards and specifications. CCS and its certified companies will contribute to the global response to climate change by upholding the principle of independence and impartiality, conveying trust, and serving the green and low-carbon development of society.
