Recently, the Dubai branch of China Classification Society (CCS) was invited to attend the 2025 World Maritime Day concurrent event hosted by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. This event is one of the important annual series organized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), with each member state hosting it annually to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation within the global maritime community around IMO's annual theme. This year's event was grandly held in Dubai, attracting extensive participation from the IMO, national maritime authorities, shipping companies in the Middle East, research institutions, universities, and industry organizations.
The 2025 World Maritime Day
theme is "Our Oceans, Our Responsibility, Our Opportunity". The
conference focused on strengthening global cooperation to protect marine environments,
promoting the transition to green and low-carbon shipping, and seizing new
opportunities brought by digitalization and intelligent development.
During the conference, Lu Wei,
Survey Manager of CCS Dubai Branch,
actively participated in thematic discussions. He engaged in in-depth exchanges
with delegates on topics such as green emission reduction technologies and ship
energy efficiency improvements, sharing practical experiences and professional
insights of CCS. He emphasized that oceans are a shared treasure for all
humanity. While fulfilling its responsibility to protect marine environments,
the shipping industry should seize crucial opportunities presented by energy
transition and digital transformation to drive the sector toward greener, smarter,
and more sustainable development.
The participation in this event
not only demonstrated CCS's professional expertise and commitment to the
international maritime sector, but also deepened cooperation with the UAE and
the global shipping community. Moving forward, CCS will continue to support the
green and low-carbon transition of the local shipping industry, contributing to
the protection of our shared oceans and promoting high-quality sustainable
development within the sector.
