The founding of China
Classification Society (CCS) is inextricably linked to the nation's strategic
imperatives of safeguarding maritime rights and interests and ensuring water
transport safety.
Since its inception in
1956, CCS has remained firmly committed to the fundamental goals of building
China into a transportation and maritime powerhouse, safeguarding national
maritime rights and interests, and facilitating the safety and sustainable development
of the nation's maritime transport. We are dedicated to providing the industry
with safe, green, and smart rules and standards, leveraging cutting-edge
technologies and standards to drive the industrial upgrading of China's
shipping, shipbuilding, and marine equipment sectors. Concurrently, the robust
growth of international shipping and shipbuilding industries has continuously
injected powerful momentum into our own development. We have consistently
advanced hand in hand with our industry partners, growing together amid the
changing tides of the times to forge shared success.
Upholding our service
tenet and core values of “Safety, Environmental Protection, and Creating Value
for Clients and Society,” CCS has continuously enhanced its technical capabilities,
consolidating the technical support required to advance global shipping safety,
energy conservation, and emission reduction. From sustaining vital global
shipping lanes through a network of over 130 service stations worldwide, to
deeply engaging in global maritime governance—including chairing the
International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) on three occasions
and deeply integrating Chinese wisdom and solutions into international
rules—CCS has navigated seven decades of extraordinary development. We have
grown into a pivotal force on the international maritime stage.
Amidst the accelerating
evolution of profound global changes and the sweeping waves of new
technological revolutions, CCS will embrace a more open-minded approach and
collaborate with global partners to build a safe, green, smart, and sustainable
future for shipping.
