On the second day of SMM 2026, China Classification Society (CCS) stand drew continuous visits and exchanges from numerous industry peers, where CCS signed a host of cooperation agreements on-site.

CCS Awards Type Approval Certificate for All-Scenario High-Pressure Direct-Injection Methanol Single-Fuel Medium-Speed Engine and Approval Certificate for CN-2 Emission Standards to SMDERI

Fully independently developed by Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute (SMDERI), the engine adopts China’s pioneering in-cylinder high-pressure methanol direct-injection technology and is fitted with a self-developed SCR exhaust aftertreatment system. The issuance of the certificates marks all-scenario compliance of China’s home-grown advanced methanol-fueled marine power equipment, providing strong impetus for the high-end upgrading of China’s green marine power industry.

CCS & EVERLLENCE Certificate Awarding Ceremony for Ammonia-Fueled Engine

CCS held an awarding ceremony for ammonia-fueled engine with EVERLLENCE and inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Moving forward, both parties will deepen collaboration covering green power, intelligent technologies and alternative fuels, with joint efforts to enhance technical survey and certification capabilities for marine engines.

CCS Signs Cooperation Agreement Framework with German Companies

CCS entered into strategic cooperation agreements with Von Nordic Marine and NewHavenMaritime. Under the agreements, the three parties will conduct joint research and deliver technical services in areas including new-generation heavy-lift vessel development, safety of over-dimensioned cargo handling and transport, as well as green decarbonization technologies.

CCS Signs Service Agreement on 15,200 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels with Qinshi Jiamei

CCS concluded a service agreement with Qinshi Jiamei on the 15,200-DWT multi-purpose vessel series. Taking this project as a starting point, CCS will deepen its presence in markets of German and European shipowners. It will work with quality domestic and international shipping partners to foster new room for industrial synergy and fuel high-quality business growth.

On the same day, CCS participated in the SMM 2026 Maritime Future Summit and delivered a keynote speech. Mr. Yue Mengqiang, Deputy General Manager of CCS Dalian Branch, presented a speech titled Artificial Intelligence in Autonomous Shipping. He outlined the full technical landscape of artificial intelligence and research outcomes for unmanned vessels.

Throughout SMM 2026, CCS organized and took part in multiple maritime forums, held in-depth discussions with local German shipowners and shared its perspectives with the global maritime community, consolidating and expanding its global maritime partnerships.
