This
type of system serves a dual purpose: it helps ships safely avoid hazardous
conditions such as typhoons and heavy seas, while also saving fuel consumption
through optimised route and speed planning. It is therefore an indispensable
digital enabler for both smart shipping and green shipping initiatives.
The
certified system – NavCycle – fills a long?standing gap in China’s standardised
compliance certification for ocean?going ship weather routing service system.
More importantly, this milestone demonstrates that China now possesses its own
independent technical standards and product system in this field, backed by
autonomous, data?secure, and fully compliant service capabilities. It also marks
the transition of China’s weather routing service sector into a new phase of
standardised and commercially viable operation.
In
parallel, the certification process has given rise to China’s first
standardised evaluation framework specifically designed for ocean?going ship
weather routing service.
All
of this has been made possible by the thriving industrial ecosystem in Qianhai,
where the shipping cluster effect continues to strengthen. Today, the area is
home to more than 600 shipping companies and over 400 supporting service
providers, driving the green and intelligent transformation of the maritime
industry and steadily cultivating new productive forces in the sector.
This
achievement not only reinforces CCS’s technical leadership at home, but also underscores
its commitment to advancing safety, efficiency and sustainability for the
global shipping community.
