The 80,000 dwt multipurpose grain carrier GUO YI HAI, with plan approval and survey undertaken by China Classification Society (CCS), has recently been delivered and named. Senior representatives from COSCO Shipping Development Co., Ltd., COSCO SHIPPING Bulk Co., Ltd., Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) attended the naming ceremony. Mr. Zhang Hui, General Manager of CCS Dalian Branch, was also invited to the ceremony.

As a new-generation multipurpose grain vessel independently developed in China, GUO YI HAI is the fifth unit of an 80,000 dwt multipurpose grain carrier series built by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. for COSCO Shipping Development Co., Ltd. Designed to cater to the specialized and large-scale advancement of grain transportation, the vessel series has integrated the construction merits of multipurpose ships.

With an overall length of 229.95 meters, the vessel boasts strong operational adaptability and a high level of technical integration. It is applicable for grain shipment, container carriage and transportation of various cargoes. Fully complying with international maritime conventions and CCS Rules for Green-Eco Ships, the vessel strictly meets global sulphur cap and exhaust standards for Emission Control Areas (ECA), as well as the latest mandatory cyber security requirements. The vessel delivers support for China’s grain logistics and export of Chinese manufactured goods, fully demonstrating CCS’s professional service in green and intelligent technologies.

Throughout GUO YI HAI’s construction, CCS maintained close collaboration with the shipowner, shipyard, designer and other stakeholders. Drawing on its extensive expertise in plan approval and survey of multipurpose vessel, CCS tracked construction progress closely to provide all-round technical support and survey assurance end-to-end, guaranteeing the high-quality delivery.
