Recently, the "Pinglan", China's first civilian ocean medical rescue vessel built by Zhejiang Hongsheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for the Beijing Pinglan Public Welfare Foundation, was successfully launched in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. The vessel surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS).
The vessel, 100.15 length overall, can accommodate up to 50 crew members, medical personnel, and rescue volunteers simultaneously, while carrying over a thousand tons of relief supplies. Integrating medical care, disaster response, and training functions, it features comprehensive medical facilities including consultation rooms, treatment rooms, observation rooms, operating theaters, laboratories, X-ray rooms, and CT scanning units. Upon completion, the vessel will provide disease screening and treatment services to communities across Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. It will also conduct major disaster relief operations, disaster recovery programs, and emergency response training initiatives.
During the construction, CCS Zhejiang Branch assembled a experienced on-site survey team to provide early intervention and precise services, ensuring robust technical support for the vessel's safety and reliability. Moving forward,CCS will continue to empower China's high-tech and high-value-added shipbuilding industry through cutting-edge technologies and premium services, contributing its expertise to advance maritime development as a global maritime power.
