release time:2025-07-09 14:07
On July 4, 2025, the 7G80MEC-LGIM-EGRTC methanol dual-fuel low-speed marine diesel engine inspected by China Classification Society (CCS) was successfully delivered by Dalian Marine Diesel Co., Ltd. of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).

On July 4, 2025, the 7G80MEC-LGIM-EGRTC methanol dual-fuel low-speed marine diesel engine inspected by China Classification Society (CCS) was successfully delivered by Dalian Marine Diesel Co., Ltd. of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). After delivery, this main engine will be installed on the world's first methanol dual-fuel intelligent VLCC built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) for Hong Kong-based Haihong Shipping Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Merchants Energy Shipping.

With a rated power of 32,970 kW and a maximum speed of 72 rpm, this main engine meets the IMO TIER II emission standards. Its successful delivery marks another significant achievement of CCS in serving the development of green  shipping. CCS Dalian Branch worked in close collaboration with  Dalian Marine Diesel, actively participating in the entire process   of R&D, manufacturing, and testing of the main engine.  Leveraging CCS's extensive experience and expertise in  low-speed marine diesel engine inspection, the surveyors  meticulously reviewed and optimized the test protocols during the delivery phase. They ensured comprehensive coverage of test items, including methanol-diesel dual-mode operation, seamless fuel switching, and various extreme operating conditions. The rigorous testing procedures and strict quality control ensured the high-quality delivery of the main engine, creating a robust "green" heart for the world's first methanol dual-fuel VLCC.

CCS will continue to deepen its efforts in the R&D, inspection, and certification of low-speed marine diesel engines. It will actively participate in the development, application, and promotion of new low-carbon/zero-carbon marine power equipment. By collaborating with all stakeholders in the industry chain, CCS will provide assistance and protection in achieving green and low-carbon transformation and upgrading.
