Recently, a delivery ceremony for the 1,600t self-propelled and self-elevating offshore wind turbine service unit “DIAN JIAN ZHI YUAN” surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) was held at Nantong Zhenhua Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

The unit “DIAN JIAN ZHI YUAN”, classified by CCS, with a length of 123.93 meters, beam of 48 meters, depth of 9.5 meters, design draft of 6.5 meters and a variable load capacity of 5,000 tons, has Full electric propulsion system with DP-2 class dynamic positioning capability, meeting Tier III emission requirements, and qualifying for unrestricted international navigation. There is a helicopter deck located at the front of its superstructure, and equipped with four truss framed legs, with a length of 125 meters and a maximum operating water depth of 70 meters. Integrating intelligent navigation systems, green powder, and exceptional lifting capabilities, the unit is specifically designed for offshore wind turbine installation, transportation, and storage operations. With the capacity to transport multiple sets of wind turbine components simultaneously, the unit demonstrates high operational efficiency, excellent positioning accuracy, and strong adaptability to deep sea wind farm, meeting the installation requirements of future 16MW and larger wind turbines. It ranks first-tier among the fourth-generation wind power installation units in China, becoming another key equipment for deep sea wind power installation.

The unit was jointly built and surveyed by CCS Dalian Branch and Jiangsu Branch by establishing an on-site project team. The project team has worked closely with the shipyard and the owner to actively solve the problems and difficulties encountered during construction, and provided clients with high-quality and efficient survey services and technical support. Moreover, the marine surveyors of CCS Dalian Branch have overcame the difficulties of long-term working in other places, stationed at the front line, strictly controlled the quality, and ensured the high-quality delivery of the platform, receiving unanimous praise from the owner and shipyard. They have facilitated the vigorous development of China’s deep sea wind power industry through practical actions.
