The Singapore Regional Technical Committee of China Classification Society (CCS) successfully held its 2024 annual meeting on November 1, 2024. With the theme of “Green Shipping and Intelligent Development," over 100 guests and committee representatives from the fields of transportation, maritime affairs, shipbuilding, shipping, etc. were invited to attend the meeting. Zhao Yan, Vice President of China Classification Society (CCS), attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Zhao Yan sincerely thanked all parties for their trust and support in his speech. He stated that CCS has made a historic breakthrough with the ships surveyed exceeding 200 MGT this year, which is an important milestone in the development of CCS. CCS will continue to deepen cooperation with the industry, seize the opportunities, and actively respond to the challenges to fully promote the high-quality development of the industry.
At the meeting, the representatives have made wonderful speeches. Chen Zili, General Manager of CCS Singapore Branch, made the “Report on CCS’s Achievements and Development," introducing the development and achievements of CCS in the past year. Marco Tessoria, Senior Marine Surveyor of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), made a report, “PSC Survey Statistics and Discoveries in Australian Ports," and he elaborated on the key points of the PSC survey in Australia based on accurate data; Drewry analyst Jeyandu Krishna analyzed and made prospects for the shipping market, providing valuable recommendations for industry development. Mr. Zhang Zhuo, Deputy Director of the Innovation Center of Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), made a report, “Development Trends of Green and Intelligent Ships," and made prospects for the future of intelligent green ship technology.
There are heated discussions at the round-table session. The flag state officials, representatives from shipping companies in Singapore, as well as CCS technical experts, had in-depth discussions on hot issues, including greenhouse gas emissions reduction and digitalization in shipping, etc.
