China Classification Society (CCS) Participated in the Founding Congress of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance

On April 26, 2024, the founding congress of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance was held in Dalian. Wang Libo, Deputy Governor of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government, and leaders from Liaoning Provincial Department of Transportation, Dalian Municipal People’s Government, Liaogang Port Group, Liao Ning Maritime Safety Administration, China Merchants Group, COSCO, Dalian Maritime University, China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, etc. jointly witnessed the founding of the alliance. CCS Vice President Zhao Yan attended the founding congress and delivered a speech.

 

 

 

11 important port and shipping enterprises, logistics enterprises, production enterprises, refueling and certification enterprises, trade enterprises, universities, scientific research institutions in the Northeast Asia region and CCS jointly initiated the founding of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance. 

 

The Alliance is committed to promoting the development of green shipping in Northeast Asia, strengthening cross regional and cross industry cooperation, optimizing resource allocation, and promoting the construction of a high-quality industrial ecosystem that integrates production preparation, trade supply, transportation refueling, testing and certification, finance and commerce, etc., promoting the formulation of policies, standards, and rules related to the green ship fuel supply chain, effectively reducing the comprehensive logistics costs of green ship fuel, effectively ensuring the security of China’s green ship fuel supply chain, and creating a new engine for promoting the development of green ship fuel in Northeast Asia.

 

 

 

As one of the initiators of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance, CCS will fully leverage its technological advantages in the research on shipping greenhouse gas emission reduction policies and measures, application of green fuels for ships, fuel refueling safety, etc. by taking the Alliance as a platform. It will strengthen collaborative cooperation with Alliance members, provide technical support and service guarantees, promote standard and industrial development of green ship fuel technology, and make greater contributions to facilitate the high-quality green development of Liaoning Province and serving the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China in the new era.
