Recently, Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping (Group) Co., Ltd. and Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd. successfully signed a construction contract for four+six 89,000 DWT methanol dual-fuel bulk carriers. Mr. Zhao Yan, Vice President of China Classification Society (CCS), was invited to attend the signing ceremony of the construction contract and issued the GDA ship type approval certificate to Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping (Group) Co., Ltd.

This ship is an innovative net zero emission intelligent ocean-going cargo ship. During During the development of the ship type, CCS, Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping (Group) Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Bestway Marine Engineering Design Co., Ltd. have closely cooperated to carry out a lot of technical research and ship type optimization work in the aspects including overall performance, hull structure, new fuel system, and intelligent system of the ship.

This ship has achieved net zero greenhouse gas emissions by using biodiesel and methanol fuels; it is also equipped with a main engine EGR system to ensure that nitrogen oxide emissions meet Tier III standards. The ship light weight has been greatly reduced by means of line optimization, lightweight design, integrated design of propellers and energy-saving devices, etc. In addition, the ship is equipped with a high-power shaft generator, preset shore power system, photovoltaic power generation system, and energy storage battery. In this way, through diversified sources of ship power supply, the energy consumption level of the ship in different operation scenarios can be further reduced, and the flexibility and economy of operation can be improved.

The ship is also equipped with a high-level ship intelligent system in compliance with the CCS Rules for Intelligent Ships, which can automatically plan routes and speed, and monitor the operation of all essential equipment in the engine room and provide intelligent decision support. In addition, this ship has an intelligent ship information platform to achieve the function of ship-shore information sharing.
