Steel Cutting Ceremony of the Leading Vessel CMES 175,000m3 LNG Carrier

On June 1st, steel cutting ceremony for the Leading Vessel (G175K-1) of “CMES 175,000m3 LNG Carrier Project” which classified into CCS was successfully held in Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. owned by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). Zhang Hui, General Manager of CCS Dalian Branch, attended the steel cutting ceremony.

The vessel has an overall length of about 295m meters, a moulded width of 46.4 meters ,a moulded depth of 26.2 meters and a design draft of 11.5meters, with a design service speed of 19.5 knots independently designed by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.. The total cargo load capacity is 175,000m3 and can dock at the most of large LNG shore stations worldwide. It has excellent port suitability and ship to shore compatibility.

With the latest LNG dual-fuel low-speed main engine and integrated ICER system, the vessel’s fuel and gas mode meets the emission standards of IMO . It is also equipped with new twin-skeg lines and an air lubrication unit to further improve hydrodynamic performance and enhance safety redundancy of the propulsion system. The cargo containment system is GTT Mark III Flex membrane type, and the ship is equipped with a re-liquefaction device for handling LNG evaporation gas in a flexible and efficient way.

The project has formally entered the actual construction stage, which marks another further cooperation among CCS, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd., and CMES.
