New Dayang 59,990 DWT Bulk Carrier "CHANG SHENG MEN" Delivered Successfully

Recently, the delivery ceremony of "CHANG SHENG MEN", the 59,990 DWT bulk carrier that was surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) and built by NEW DAYANG SHIPBUILDING Co., LTD. for Nanjing Twin Rivers Shipping Co., Ltd., was held in Yangzhou. Zhang Dongbiao, the Deputy General Manager of CCS Jiangsu Branch, was invited to attend the ceremony and gave a speech.

"CHANG SHENG MEN" is a key product for New Dayang to make great efforts in winning the domestic trade ship market. The ship has a total length 199.98 m, molded breadth 34.0 m, molded depth 16.6 m, and design draft 12.0 m. It is a domestic trade bulk carrier that is developed and newly designed for transporting cargoes from the north to the south by the Yangtze River. It fully utilizes the draft limitation of the Yangtze River waterway and the wharves along the banks, and has made full use of the current restrictions of entering the Yangtze River in domestic trade. Additionally, due to the installation of flap-type rudders and the optimal selection of main engine power points, the oil consumption and maneuverability of this ship are much better than the similar ships entering the Yangtze River.

 

 

 

During the shipbuilding, the shortage of personnel and materials that resulted from COVID-19 significantly affected the building speed of this ship. The site project team from  Taizhou Office of CCS Jiangsu Branch proactively followed the ship delivery plan of the shipyard and the shipowner, actively participated in solution planning, changed coating schemes pertinently, optimized construction processes, and ensured the successful delivery.
