The Royal Institution of Naval Architects recently published the annual issue of SIGNIFICANT SHIPS OF 2021, cataloging 43 singularly significant ship types delivered by shipyards around the world last year, of which 6 ship types are classed by CCS. They are described below respectively:

 

 

 

HUI ZHI HAI Newcastlemax bulk carrier

 

 

HUI ZHI HAI Newcastlemax bulk carrier, surveyed by CCS Jiangsu Branch, is a leading vessel from the series of 210,000 DWT bulk carriers. The series are a new vessel type specially built for COSCO Shipping Bulk Co., Ltd. to go in the African Guinea route for bauxite under the guidance of the "Belt and Road Initiative".

 

JI LONG DAO Ro-pax ferry

 

 

JI LONG DAO Ro-pax ferry is a leading vessel from the series of ro-ro passenger ships with 2800m lane and accommodating 1,375 passengers; it belongs to COSCO Shipping Ferry Co., Ltd. and was subject to construction survey by CCS Guangzhou Branch. JI LONG DAO Ro-pax ferry is a luxury ro-pax ferry that has been independently designed and built in China, and its interiors and vital systems are also provided domestically. The ferry, after being put into service, will become a large luxury ro-pax ferry that leads in China with regard to the smart technologies adopted and the comfort level.

 

Taixing Heavy lift multipurpose vessel

 

 

The 62,000 DWT TAI XING heavy lift multipurpose vessel, whose classification survey is conducted by CCS Jiangsu Branch, is a leading vessel from the four heavy-lift multipurpose vessels built by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd., and is also the world's leading heavy lift multipurpose vessel in terms of deadweight tonnage, with advanced ship type and hull form, excellent energy efficiency index, and sophisticated manufacturing technologies.

 

TANG HONG Vehicles carrier

 

 

The 3,800 CEU TANG HONG vehicles carrier surveyed by CCS Jiangsu Branch was built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. for Shenzhen China Merchants Roro Shipping Co., Ltd. The carrier is a new generation of high-grade ships specially designed for domestic trade vehicles transportation.

 

WU TONG Chemical/product tanker

 

 

The WU TONG is a 7200 DWT duplex stainless chemical/product tanker of Shanghai SC Shipping (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. (WS Group) and surveyed by CCS Wuhan Branch. The vessel is the first CCS-class chemical tanker built by WS Group Shuangliu Base, marking a new start for WS Group to build CCS-class chemical tankers.

 

XIANG AN KOU Heavy lift vessel

 

 

The XIANG AN KOU is a semi-submersible heavy lift vessel built by CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd., and its legal survey was conducted by CCS Guangzhou Branch. The ship is the first special semi-submersible vessel built in China equipped with a ship intelligence system, which meet the rigorous requirements of precise installation of marine products at sea.
