On March 12, Asia’s first deep-water aqueduct Haiji One, surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS), had its on-land construction completion and loading-for-launching ceremony at the COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries, Co., Ltd. (COOEC-Fluor), Zhuhai. Zhou Liwei, the Deputy General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, was invited to participate in the ceremony.
“Haiji One” (LF15-1 DPP) is Asia’s first 300m deep-water aqueduct with a total height up to 302m, a weight up to 30,000t, and a working water depth up to 284m. It will serve the Lufeng Platform 15-1 of Lufeng Oilfield Complex located in the east part of South China Sea.
It is the first time for CCS to undertake the design, review, independent check and site survey of a 300m aqueduct platform. The Marine Engineering Business Office of the general headquarters and CCS Guangzhou Branch served as the leader and build up the Survey Team of the Lufeng Oilfield Complex Development Project Group, which consists of marine engineering technology center, Shenzhen Branch, Qingdao Branch, Zhuhai Branch, Zhanjiang Branch. Together, they made concerted efforts and overcame many difficulties. The team strictly controlled the quality during the design review and construction survey and solved problems efficiently in time. The team also cooperated closely with the CNOOC Owner Project Group and the related construction organizations, and ensured the smooth progress of the project jointly.
The completion of “Haiji One” is a mark of a new breakthrough of CCS in the aqueduct design, construction and survey technologies for very large offshore oil and gas platforms.
