On March 14, 2022, the completion and delivery ceremony of PU SHENG HAI YANG MU CHANG 1, an 80 m semi-submersible box-type aquaculture and tourism platform surveyed by Nansha Survey Office of CCS Guangzhou Branch, was held in Nansha District, Guangzhou.
The platform is the first ocean ranching facility that has obtained the CCS classification certificate across South China. It has a total length 86m, a width 30m, a height 18m, and an operating draft 10m. It consists of steel semi-submersible structure and soft nets, forming an aquaculture water body about 30,000m3. It can be equipped with an intelligent aquaculture system to fulfill modern fishery production functions, such as automatic feeding, fish monitoring and control, and water quality monitoring. It can realize an annual output of 600,000kg high-quality marine fish. After delivery, it will serve the national-level modern smart marine ranch in Longqi Bay, Ledong County, Hainan Province.
PU SHENG HAI YANG MU CHANG 1 is the type of platform that has been built by Guangzhou Wenchong Dockyard Co., Ltd., subordinated to Guangzhou Shipyard International, for the first time. It is also the first project of the company to transfer its business from traditional ship repair to ship building. So, in addition to the transformation of the production and management mode, the company had to overcome many difficulties in light gauge welding distortion and precision control.
To solve those problems, CCS Nansha Survey Office made deployment in advance, actively took measures, and proactively helped the shipyard resolve concerns and difficulties. Before commencement, the Office organized several times of related training for the employees of the shipyard. During the construction, site marine surveyors explained patiently the key points of the process, such as the light gauge welding angular distortion and segmented precision control, to the construction workers.
To ensure the project progress, site marine surveyors actively cooperated with the shipyard to implement strictly the prevention regulations against COVID-19, and carried out inspection and review normally in line with the shipyard’s plan even during holidays like the National Day and the Spring Festival, ensuring the smooth delivery of the deep-sea intelligent aquaculture tourism platform with high-quality services.
