1 This Guideline applies to the mechanical joints defined in 2.5.3, Chapter 2 of PART THREE of CCS Rules for Classification of Sea-going Steel Ships, including type approval and product inspection for all types of ship piping joints,  compression couplings and slip-on joints.
2 This Guideline may also be reference by other mechanical joints with similar construction.
3 The type approval performed according to the nationally or internationally recognized standards equivalent to this Guideline is acceptable.
