On September 18, the two-day fifth Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress was opened in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was supported by the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services and co-organized by Bahri and Seatrade Maritime; the main partners are Mawani and TGA, and the strategic partners are Aramco and IMI. The Deputy Minister of the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Governor of Eastern Province, and the President of Mawani attended the event. Chen Jiping, General Manager of China Classification Society (CCS) Dubai Branch, was invited to attend this event with a team.
Chen Jiping participated in the “Ship Construction and Repair” panel discussion to make in-depth discussion on the development prospects of regional ship construction and repair plants and the main problems faced by low-carbon emissions reduction in the shipping industry. He also answered questions related to the development and application of hydrogen-powered ships during the on-site Q&A session.
At the awarding session specially set up by the organizing committee, Chen Jiping was invited as an award presenter to present the 2024 Global Performer Award to Captain Krzysztof Zydowicz from Bahri.
In addition, CCS Dubai Branch also accepted a special interview with Seatrade Maritime, and Chen Jiping made a comprehensive elaboration on the opportunities and challenges for the future development of the shipping industry, the implementation of CCS alternative fuels, the process of digital work, cyber security services, and the Middle East development plan, providing reference for the robust, safe, and sustainable development of the regional industries.
Through this event, CCS has further enhanced its influence in the Saudi Arabia region, and CCS will take this as an opportunity to deepen its continued cooperation with the Saudi Arabia shipping industry, and leverage its technology-leading role to support the continuous development of international business.
The 2024 Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress has attracted nearly 10,000 visitors from over 70 countries, and more than 60 industry experts are invited to give keynote speeches and exchange ideas.
