Recently, "HAI YANG SHI YOU 542" and "HAI YANG SHI YOU 547”, the domestic intelligent LNG-fueled Stand-by vessels, were delivered successfully in Qidong City, Jiangsu Province. They are both built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. and surveyed by Wuhan Branch of China Classification Society (CCS).

They are the first batch of natural gas-fueled Stand-by vessels that have been granted with the class notations of CCS Intelligent Platform, Intelligent Ship Cabin, Intelligent Energy Efficiency and Intelligent Voyages, filling the gap in the field of intelligent LNG-fueled Stand-by vessels for China and marking that China has reached the world-class standards in designing and building green and intelligent offshore engineering ships.

Either “HAI YANG SHI YOU 542” or “HAI YANG SHI YOU 547” has the length 65.2 m, molded breadth 15.2 m, and load draft 5.5 m, and is equipped with the dual-fuel generator and Z-propulsion power system. They are the professional vessels providing assurance services, including Stand-bying, supplying, life-saving, fire-fighting and decontamination, for the development and production activities of offshore oil and gas resources.

Both are Class 2, No.3 ships in the series built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. for China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL). They are built by intelligently upgrading the original green, low-carbon and environment-friendly vessels. Since the implementation of intelligent upgrading projects, CCS organized related experts for several times for providing multiple times of technological services during planning, preparing and implementing the project program, with the support of “Networked Industrial Application Innovation and Promotion Platform Project of Industrial Internet”. For field projects, in order to provide quality service for customers, picked survey personnel are concentrated to work with full efforts, or even overtime.

CCS always works on the study of low-carbon, environment-friendly and intelligent ships. Since the initial version of Rules for Intelligent Ships entered into force in 2016, CCS has granted several intelligent class notations to the ships classified by CCS.

The delivery of the two intelligent LNG-fueled Stand-by vessels will make contributions to speeding up the green and intelligent development of China’s offshore oil equipment, transforming China’s energy structure into a green, low-carbon one, and accelerating building China into a country with strong transportation networks.
