The Rules for Construction of Sea-going Ships Engaged on Domestic Voyages applies to sea-going steel ships of 20 m in length and over engaged on domestic voyages. Unless otherwise specified, it does not apply to military ships, wooden ships, yachts, high-speed craft, small waterplane area craft, sailboat, fishing vessel.

The Rules for Construction of Sea-going Ships Engaged on Domestic Voyages (2025) incorporates its 2025 amendments and 2025 RCN No.1, on the basis of the Rules for Construction of Sea-going Ships Engaged on Domestic Voyages (2024).

Upon effective, the Rules for Construction of Sea-going Ships Engaged on Domestic Voyages (2025) supersedes the Rules for Construction of Sea-going Ships Engaged on Domestic Voyages (2024).
