1 This guideline applies to engine-driven three-phase AC synchronous generators rated at 2500 kW and 50 Hz or 60 Hz and 1 kV and their excitation devices, intended for ships and offshore installations. This Chapter is applicable to motors for general purposes. Where motors, which are intended for special purposes or for which special tests are required, are not specifically covered by this Chapter, the standards for such motors apply.
2 This guideline applies to three-phase AC synchronous generators (including emergency generators) for general purposes. Where motors, which are intended for special purposes or for which special tests are required, are not specifically covered by thisguideline, the standards for such motors apply.
