A Great Start of the New Year! The 62,000T Heavy Lift Vessel “KANG FU” Surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) Was Successfully Delivered 2025-01-20
Vigorously strive for a new beginning to achieve a good start of the new year. On January 3, 2025, the CCS class 62K heavy lift vessel “KANG FU” constructed by Chengxi Shipyard Yang Zhou Co., Ltd. For Bank of Communications Financial Leasing CO., Ltd. “BOCOM Leasing” was successfully delivered in Jiangdu Development Zone.
BYD’s First Self-built Vessel “BYD HEFEI” Surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) Was Delivered 2025-01-20
On January 7, 2025, the first vessel “BYD HEFEI” of the 7000 dual-fuel pure car truck carrier PCTC series, which was constructed by Guangzhou Shipyard International GSI for BYD HK Co., Ltd. and surveyed by China Classification Society CCS, was officially named and delivered. Zhou Liwei, Deputy General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, was invited to attend the naming and delivery ceremony.

During the progress of this project, China Classification Society CCS has actively promoted the transformation of ammonia-fueled ships from theory to practical application, participated in ship design optimization, provided risk assessment solutions for ships, put forward preventive suggestions and measures for key risk points of the application of ammonia fuel, and implemented them in ship construction, thereby guaranteeing the smooth progress of this project.
Main Risks and Control of the Application of Ammonia-Fuelled Vessels 2025-01-09
Currently, ammonia fuel is widely regarded as one of the important alternative fuels for the international shipping industry to achieve the net zero emissions target by 2050. This paper analyzes the main risks of ships using ammonia fuel from the physical and chemical properties and combustion characteristics of ammonia, and sorts out the key technologies for ships using ammonia fuel, in order to provide reference for the safe application of ammonia fuel in ships.
