Built by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. for COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Co., Ltd., “ZHI NENG YUN FAN” is the lead ship of its series. It is also the first vessel among China’s product tankers of its kind to realize the simultaneous deployment of a full set of intelligent ship systems and end-to-end cybersecurity protection. The vessel has an overall length of 182.9 meters. Designed to meet cutting-edge international environmental requirements, it is compatible with biofuels and ready for future fuel upgrades. It is capable of carrying multiple products including crude oil and jet fuel, and its cargo piping system can simultaneously load and discharge cargo oil of three different levels. The vessel is suitable for calls at major global ports and can meet diverse operational needs such as regional product oil distribution and transoceanic transportation.

During construction, CCS provided full-cycle technical support and survey services, maintaining close coordination with the shipowner, shipyard and other stakeholders to facilitate innovative practices for the project. Intelligence and cybersecurity constitute the core features of this vessel. To address new technical challenges arising from the integration of intelligent systems and cybersecurity, CCS adopted a proactive service approach. Leveraging its technical reserves and onboard survey experience in relevant fields, CCS responded promptly to requirements from the shipowner and shipyard. It took an in-depth part in scheme discussions, technical assessments, on-site surveys and certification verification, while concurrently carrying out rule interpretation, technical consultation, test witnessing and other activities. CCS collaborated to resolve various technical bottlenecks and ensured the project progressed on schedule.

The vessel’s intelligent systems cover full business scenarios including operational dispatch, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance. CCS conducted comprehensive technical vetting. It performed verification and completed the vessel’s cybersecurity certification in strict accordance with IACS’ Cyber resilience of ships (UR E26), helping establish an end-to-end cybersecurity protection framework spanning from equipment to system. This realizes integrated implementation of intelligent systems and cybersecurity, consolidates the foundation for the vessel’s secure digital operation and guarantees high-quality delivery.

Moving forward, CCS will continue to deepen its work in vessel’s green development, intelligent technologies and cybersecurity, offering robust and reliable technical support to accelerate the green, low-carbon, digital and intelligent transition of China’s shipbuilding and shipping industries.
