China's first inland river battery-powered garbage-collecting and transfer vessel, "COSCO Lv Shui 1", has recently completed navigation trial in Zigui County, Hubei Province, and is set to commence operation. This vessel represents a significant milestone in the development of green and intelligent inland waterway ships in China. Its successful delivery marks the official entry of garbage-collecting operations in the Three Gorges Reservoir area into the "zero-carbon era.".

The Yichang Branch of China Classification Society (CCS) attaches great importance to this survey, forming a team of surveyors who participated throughout the shipbuilding, mooring trials, and navigation trials. The surveyors braved high temperatures and battled the flood season, remaining on the front lines for an extended period. They conducted multiple rounds of meticulous surveys on the electrical propulsion system, containerized mobile power supply, garbage-collecting equipment, and navigation performance in accordance with the rules, ensuring the vessel fully meets safety, environmental protection, and efficiency standards.

The "Three Gorges Dam Protection No.1" has been awarded multiple class notations including Electrical Propulsion System, Battery(Power), Green Ship-3, and EEDI-3. These accolades not only highlight its outstanding performance in green energy solutions and safety features, but also mark CCS's significant progress in implementing the "Electrified Yangtze River" initiative and driving the green transformation of inland waterway vessels. Building on this achievement, CCS will continue to provide robust technical support for advancing high-quality green shipping development along the Yangtze River, contributing to a new chapter in the comprehensive protection of this vital waterway.
