On March 25, 2025, WINNING International Group (WINNING), together with China Classification Society (CCS) and Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), jointly unveiled the plaque for the establishment of the “Joint Innovation Studio for Shipping Technology” during the Singapore International Maritime Exhibition (pictured above). Guests including Sun Xiushun, Chairman of WINNING, Kenneth Lim, Deputy Director of Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), attended the unveiling ceremony.
At the unveiling ceremony, Sun Zhijun, Vice President of WINNING (pictured above), pointed out in his speech that this cooperation is not only a deepening linkage among the three parties in the field of technological innovation, but also a positive response to the development path of “green shipping”, “smart ships” and “clean energy”. He said, “WINNING has always been committed to promoting high-quality development of the shipping industry, and we are willing and capable of applying more innovative technologies to ship design and actual operation. This platform will focus on key directions including “green technology”, “intelligent systems”, “alternative fuels”, etc., and building a more efficient, environmental-friendly, and intelligent future fleet.”
In the future, the three parties will jointly develop a new generation of ships with green, low-carbon, and intelligent operation and maintenance capabilities based on their respective advantages, which cover various green energy options including methanol, ammonia fuel, and LNG power. At the same time, they will accelerate the implementation of digital solutions, strengthen real-time monitoring and intelligent decision-making capabilities, and improve the overall operational efficiency and safety level.
It is reported that the studio, as an open platform, will recruit a wide range of cooperative forces from upstream and downstream of the shipping industry chain. The three parties also sincerely welcome more industry partners and professional institutions to join to explore the path of sustainable development in the industry and inject more “green momentum” into global shipping.
On March 24, WINNING signed a cooperation agreement with CCS (as shown in the picture), laying a foundation for establishing the studio. Sun Siyuan, Executive Vice President of WINNING, and Zhao Yan, CCS Vice President, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Sun Xiushun, Chairman of WINNING, Sun Zhijun, Vice President of WINNING, Jiang Botao, Director of the Business Operation Department of China Classification Society, and Chen Zili, General Manager of CCS Singapore Branch.
WINNING has always upheld the concept of green development, actively responded to the emission reduction vision of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and comprehensively promoted the fleet towards low-carbon, efficient, and intelligent transformation by taking technological innovation as the driving force. This joint innovation studio is not only an important practice in building a sustainable shipping ecosystem, but also a concentrated reflection of WINNING’s “global layout and green-leading” development strategy.
