China’s First! This Important Project Was Put Into Operation
Recently, another
major energy development project has ushered in a historic moment—the Wushi
17-2/23-5 Oilfield Group Development Project, surveyed by China Classification
Society (CCS), was officially put into operation. This project has become a new
model for green development of China’s offshore oil fields, providing a
demonstration for the transformation of China’s energy industry towards
low-carbon and green development.
“Integration of Six Stations”
The Wushi
17-2/23-5 Oilfield Group is located in the Beibu Gulf of the South China Sea,
with an average water depth of about 28m. The development project includes the
construction of 3 wellhead platforms and the construction of Wushi onshore
terminal to achieve the integration of six stations: crude oil processing
station, LNG station, liquefied petroleum gas station, production water
station, substation, and 5G base station.
The first “zero emission” oil field
The Wushi
17-2/23-5 Oilfield Group is the first oilfield in the Beibu Gulf of China to
achieve “zero emission” of production water. Its terminal processing plant is
innovatively constructed with a production water treatment station and an
integrated natural gas processing unit. Among them, the production water
treatment station processes the oily wastewater produced by the upstream
platform to the water injection standards through continuous four-stage water treatment
process, and then transport it all to the offshore platform for reinjection
into the formation to achieve zero emission and zero pollution throughout the
entire process. The integrated natural gas processing unit includes various
equipment for deacidification, dehydration, and light hydrocarbon recovery of
associated natural gas, as well as LNG and LPG storage tanks that can
effectively convert associated natural gas into two products, i.e., LNG and
LPG, and store and transport them to achieve deep and effective utilization of
associated gas in the whole process.
The first oilfield to use shore power
At the same time,
the overall design of the Wushi 17-2/23-5 Oilfield Group adopts shore power
generation, which is also the first offshore oilfield that uses shore power in
the Beibu Gulf.
Since its launch,
CCS has been fully involved in the whole process to ensure the safe and
efficient implementation of the project. All participating survey units within
the system have provided solid guarantees for the successful production of the
project with their professional technical capabilities, rigorous survey
standards, and efficient service levels.
