Focused by CCTV Media! Haiji-2, the First Deepwater Jacket in Asia Surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) Was Completed

On March 12, Haiji-2, the First Deepwater Jacket in Asia designed and built independently by China completed construction at the Zhuhai Deepwater Ocean Engineering Equipment Manufacturing Base and the launching ceremony for offshore installation was held. It was surveyed and certified by China Classification Society (CCS). Fan Qiang, Vice President of CCS, Han Xuechao, Deputy General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, Zheng Nan, Deputy Director of CCS Marine Business Department, etc. were invited to attend the ceremony

As the most widely used offshore oil and gas development equipment worldwide, the fixed jacket platform is mainly composed of jacket, pile legs, and upper modules. The jacket is equivalent to the “foundation” of offshore oil and gas platforms.

Haiji-2” is the first domestic ultra-large deepwater jacket that integrates digital twin system, external current cathodic protection system, marine environmental detection system, and submarine environmental monitoring system. With a total construction height of 338.5m, ranking first in Asia and seventh in the world, it took 26 months to build, and the critical dimensional accuracy is controlled within 5mm. It has a total weight of 37000 tons, and the weight of the steel used is close to the total weight of the steel structure of the “Bird’s Nest” National Stadium, which is equivalent to four times the weight of the Eiffel Tower that is close to its height. The completion of its construction not only rewrites multiple Asian records for the height, weight, operating depth, construction speed, etc. of deepwater jacket structure, but also marks that China’s independent design and construction capabilities for ultra large deepwater jackets have reached the world’s leading level, which is of great significance for ensuring China’s energy security and achieving self-reliance and self-improvement of high-level marine technology.

Under the collaborative guidance of CCS Marine Engineering Business Department and the Marine Engineering Technology Center, Guangzhou Branch (Shenzhen Branch, Zhuhai Branch) have fully participated in the construction and inspection of “Haiji-2” deepwater jacket, overcome extreme weather challenges such as typhoon, rainstorm, high temperature, etc. during the inspection, and worked closely with CNOOC, COOEC, CNOOC Fluor, etc. by making full use of its technical advantages to jointly overcome technical problems such as the first large-scale application of S420 high-strength steel, size control of large structure assembly for domestic jackets, etc., providing a solid quality and safety guarantee for the high-quality delivery of CNOOC super projects.

It is reported that “Haiji-2” is planned to be installed offshore recently. After completion, it will serve as the second development project of Liuhua 11-1/4-1 Oilfield, China’s first deepwater oilfield in the the Pearl River Mouth Basin to promote the revitalization of billion ton deepwater old oil fields, and inject new energy into the economic and social development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
