On September 22, 2023, the opening ceremony of the “2023 North Bund Forum” was successfully held in the Grand Halls in Shanghai, and the three-day event was themed “Openness, Cooperation, Innovation ---- Co-building a New Landscape of Global Shipping & Aviation”. This Forum includes the opening ceremony and the main forum, two parallel forums, namely international maritime transportation and international aviation, as well as six thematic forums for in-depth discussions on topics such as green, intelligence, safety, rescue, law and financial insurance in the shipping field.

 

Several important achievements were released at the opening ceremony and the main forum.

Sun Feng, President of CCS, attended the release ceremony of the “Outline of the Implementation Plan for the Shanghai Port----Port of Los Angeles Green Shipping Corridor”.

 

 

 

This outline is jointly initiated by the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission and the Port of Los Angeles, jointly launched by Shanghai Port, the Port of Los Angeles, and the Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40), etc., which aims to achieve port-to-port freight transport between Shanghai Port and the Port of Los Angeles in the cleanest and lowest carbon manner. According to the outline of the implementation plan, the shipping company partners will deploy vessels with full-life-cycle low carbon or full-life-cycle zero carbon emission capabilities in this corridor from 2025.

 

The participating partners include A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, CMA CGM Group, COSCO Shipping Lines Co., Ltd., Ocean Network Shipping (China) Co., Ltd, Evergreen Marine Corp., Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd., Port of Long Beach, IKEA, Amazon, China Classification Society, Maritime Technology Cooperation Center, Asia (MTCC Asia), etc.
