China Classification Society (CCS) Attended the Shipbuilding Contracts Singing Ceremony for 175,000CBM Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Carrier

On August 21, the shipbuilding contracts singing ceremony for 2+2 units 175,000CBM LNG carrier of China Gas/Wah Kwong/CSSC SEA JADE INVESTMENT LIMITED undertaken by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co, Ltd. (DSIC) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) was held in Dalian. Sun Feng, President of China Classification Society (CCS), was invited to attend the ceremony.

 

 

 

The 175,000CBM LNG carriers signed this time were independently developed by DSIC and entered CCS classification, marking a new level of cooperation between CCS and DSIC in large LNG carriers. Up to now, CCS has fully participated in the construction survey of DSIC’s existing 10 large LNG carriers, and actively facilitated DSIC to transform and upgrade to high value-added ships.

 

CCS Dalian Branch has attached great importance to the large LNG carriers undertaken by DSIC. Under overall guidance of the headquarters, the technical backbone members are transferred to establish a LNG special working group to fully prepare technical and human resources for the construction survey of LNG carriers.

 

On June 1 this year, the first ship of the “CMES 175,000m3 large LNG carriers” surveyed by CCS has successfully entered the actual construction stage. During the shipbuilding process, CCS Dalian Branch has closely cooperated with the shipyard and shipowner to provide high-quality and efficient survey services and technical support in all aspects, and fully ensure the high-quality completion and delivery of large LNG carriers, making positive contributions to promoting the innovative development of China’s energy, shipping, and equipment manufacturing industries.
