Applications of CCS Digital Space Ecology

China  Classification  Society  (CCS) digital space is a digital solution driven by data elements to support technological, low -carbon and green innovation of the upstream and downstream industries . Relying on its own role as an impartial third party, CCS developed the digital space against the digital development background of China's  shipbuilding industry to meet the demand of the industry for data circulation, sharing and cross-border . The CCS digital space provides all-round data and application management needs for customers mainly through three centers .  

 

I. Data sharing center

 

The CSBC  block  chain -based   data sharing  between  the  ship  industry  and offshore engineering industry is a solution to fulfilling the data sharing between the two parts, i .e . data sharing and evidence preservation . Data sharing is mainly used to solve the problems in the enterprise sharing,such as the data logic, authorization and data exchange . Evidence preservation is to use blockchain technology to ensure the security and efficiency of data sharing process through the functions of evidence preservation,intelligent contracts, transaction records and data verification . Additionally, it provides industrial information security assurance for  the  ship  and  offshore  engineering industries  against the complex network environment and to meet their security and confidentiality requirements . CSBC provides the data transferring scheme for the internal and external networks, and adopts the data transferring  strategy  of “hardware plus software” to ensure the data sharing between the high-level security and secrecy entities in a safe and credible environment .

 

II. Data escrow center

 

According to the classified protection principle, the data capitalization, compliance and  industrialization  are  promoted  by establishing industrial third-party data escrow standards and specifications . The unbalanced authorization relationships between the data subject and data controller are solved to find out a win-win approach to ensure data privacy and  security during data circulation and trading . It provides the industry with a series of data value-added services for secured data escrow and storage, access authorization, and third-party data notarization . It builds the secured calculation environment to guarantee that  the  industrial  data  collection  and analysis as well as the visual result issuance management can be conducted under safe environment .

 

III. Application release center

 

By providing the industrial infrastructure and software evaluation service with high expandability, data availability and strong security for the parties in the industry,it creates a reliable environment, where industrial customers of different  scales can establish, release and use a series of applications, including the in -lake data

warehouses, websites, mobile applications,backup and restore, filing, enterprise-level applications, IoT equipment and big data analysis as well as analog simulation .

 

At present, the existing applications and services in the CCS digital space ecology are detailed below .

 

1. Data sharing for external survey of newbuildings

 

The data sharing scenario of the data sharing  service  for  external  survey  of newbuildings is a blockchain-based integrated innovative application for the information exchange in the ship industry, mainly for the business scenario where data interaction of different parties occurs during the construction in the ship life cycle . By combining the industrial Internet, identification interpreting,blockchain technologies with industrial information security assurance, based on the entities including ship assembly factories,classification  societies  and  shipowners,it provides  services  about  ship quality,including ship quality data identification mark, certification, sharing and exchange,circulating and source tracing as well as secured coordination .

 

2. Sharing service of marine product survey data

 

Based  on  the  CSBC  platform,  the sharing service of marine product survey data is to share data in the whole process,including  survey  application,  product information submission, survey and testing report submission, survey progress inquiry and electronic certificate issuance, to fulfill the connection between the product factory system and the survey certification system . It can effectively reduce the error probabilities caused  by  manual  handling  during  the processing, decrease the workload of the personnel of both parties, and improve the

efficiency of survey certificate issuance .

 

3. Sharing service for ship plan approval data

 

The concept of the “blockchain + plan approval” is used to realize the ship plan approval data sharing scenario application and  establish  the  secured  data  channel between CCS and submitters . The digital delivery is conducted for the data, including approval submission information, drawings,plan approval progress and plan approval comments, with the ship owners, designers and shipyards through the CSBC data sharing platform, significantly upgrading the plan approval efficiency and reducing human intervention .

 

4. Level II nodes of comprehensive Internet service and identification interpreting in the ship and offshore engineering industries

 

Level II nodes of Internet identification interpreting  in  the  ship  and  offshore engineering industries are the Level II nodes of OID  and VAA multi -protocol fusion independently established by CCS . On the basis of meeting the relevant requirements of identification interpreting, a series of functions  are  developed,  for  example, multilevel enterprise nodes, node hosting, pretest codes, single-time large-batch codes, privacy attribute management and security code authentication . They are more applicable for the enterprises in the ship industry . They have fulfilled the mutual recognition and interconnection of industrial standards and multi-enterprise standards as well as the sharing opening of multi-platform capabilities, and solved the problems of the high threshold of industrial Internet application technologies and difficult industrial coordination . They are the strong support of driving enterprises’ ability complementary as well as collaborative innovation within the industry .

 

5. Survey technology support system

 

The  system collects a large amount of technological data involving ship and offshore engineering survey, and split the data properly by combining the CCS survey items to help user look up and read more conveniently . So far, it has included the technological documents issued by CCS, IMO, IACS and   flag administrations, port state survey agencies and related regional organizations . Users can inquire the revision status, detailed contents and latest integrated texts of the related technological data . The survey technology support system supports the mobile application .

 

6. ECP steel plate warranty service

 

The electronic interface service of steel plate warranty has opened up the barriers of CCS and steel plant data, and utilizes the open standard WebSericeservice mode,inaddition with the CA digital sienature techmology, to flfill the on-line steel plate warranty e-wiss By uperading data services, the e-wisa service is combinedwith the blockhaintechnology In this way, the security ofdataaccess can be improwed andtracesbility,tamperingprewentior and controllable data sharing can be fulflled during data interaction.

 

7. Drawing management application

 

The drawing management application is a system deweloped asainst such drawbacks as diversity and complexity of the desien drawines for ships, offshore engineering facilities and ship products as well as the high costs and low efficiencr of the traditional paper drawing management swstem so as tcimprowe the infomation management level of the desieners drawinss and help them tealize digital transfomation in drawing desien field . lt is used mainly to ensure tha normalized standard and process oriented drawing management, fulfill the controllable centralized management of drayinedocuments andrealize the upstream downstram data sharing and circulation throueh coordination with the industrisl communit lt has functions includine drawine item manseement,drawing version managementdocument security manseement drawing workflow management.electronic stamp and sienature as well as drawingteceiyingandsendingmanagement

 

8 . Flag state survew and certificate data seryice

9.EEXI/CIl on -line assessment application

 

EEXI/CIl on-line assessment: Accordingto the EEXI/ CIl guidelines requirements finalized at WEPC 7 6 the EEXI CII on-line assessment serwice shall be prowided for ship survewors, ship owmers or ship companies . Through this system EEXI/Cll data collection calculation analysis and as sessment as well as EPL calculation and Cll level evaluation can be fulfilled, and the technological reports can be generated correspondinely.

 

10. On-line intelligent ship efficiency manaeement application.

 

The on- line intelligent management ofship efficienc' can sutomatically acquire and monitor the shipping equipment operstion parameter data ( such as the enerew consumption. operating conditions and shaft powerequipment GPS. anemometer, logapparatus, declinometer and depthsounder) of main enerey-consuming equipment(including the mainengine auxiliary engine and boiler of ship), and can fulfill the cealtime data swnchronism withthe shore besed system Throush the automatic acquisition and on-linemonitoring of ship sailing status quipment operstiondata, enerew consumptionand emission data using the kewtechnologies including big data processing as well as numericel analysis and optimizstion the analysis models and analysis process are established based on the historical data of the ship, and the functions, including monitoring sailing acts and ship energy-consuming equipment, the early-warning of emission control areas (ECA),energy management and energy efficiency analysis and assessment as well as aiding decision making, can be fulfilled synchronizedly both at the ship and shore, so as to meet the related parties’ need of ship energy efficiency refinement and intelligent management.

 

 

 

11. Data quality assessment of ship and offshore facilities

 

In order to cope with the need of ship data quality assessment and evaluation, CCS issued the Guidelines for Quality Assessment of  Ship Data  to  support  the  industrial community in the assessment of ship data quality, data management maturity, data security, etc . CCS has also developed the on-line ship data quality assessment system and proposed the data quality assessment service for ships and offshore facilities .

 

12. Data security risk assessment of ships and offshore facilities

 

It is expected that the shipping industry development will show such characteristics as the real-time ship tracing, cargo management,unmanned shipping, intelligent transport capacity  management,  dynamic  freight transport, digital documents and end-to-end port management. The data are expected to have such characteristics as diversity, complex application scenarios, great mobility and difficult data management . Data are facing more and more security risks as the shipping industry gradually becomes intelligent, low-carbon and digital.

 

For the data  security risks of ships and offshore facilities, CCS provides the following assessment services:

 

(1) Classified assessment of ship data

 

For  the  complex  and  diverse  ship data, the ship data classes are analyzed, the classified management principle is studied and implemented, and the classification-based data protection is carried out . The data classification strategies focus on defining data types, and the data grading strategies focus on defining the security level of data protection .

 

(2) Risk and security assessment of ship data

 

For the data application scenarios, the security effect of the application on the crew,equipment, ships and organizations is assessed in terms of the normalization, integrity and compliance of the data about acquisition,integration, transmission and application for the whole life cycle .

 

(3) Assessment of ship data management maturity

 

The data management maturity is set for the data management for the whole life cycle,including the need of security protection . It focuses on the combination of organization construction,  system  procedures  and technological tools, so as to assess the data management capability of the organization .

 

With  the  cont i nuously  deepened digitalization of the ship industry, CCS will cooperate with different parties to provide more extensive and more abundant digital service products.
