The 2022 North Bund Forum, Digitalization and Intelligentization Forum  was held in Shanghai

On the 23rd of Nov 2022, China Classification Society (CCS) organized the Digitalization and Intelligentization Forum of 2022 North Bund Forum in Grand Constellation Hall of the Grand Halls, Shanghai.

 



The theme of the session was "Digital transformation in shipping based on collaboration and broad participation". It was held simultaneously online and offline. Distinguished guests including relevant government representatives, heads of international organizations, leading companies, representatives of authoritative institutions as well as well-known experts and scholars discussed future opportunities and challenges faced in the process of digitalization; and explored the ways to promote the digital transformation in shipping and development  of digital economy. The session will be moderated by Mr. Fan Qiang, Vice President of CCS.



Mr. Zhuang Mudi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, attended the meeting and delivered a speech on behalf of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.He expressed his sincere congratulations on the successful holding of this forum and a warm welcome to all the guests attending the forum. Regarding to the future development of digitalization and intelligentization in Shanghai shipping,  Mr. Zhuang mentioned that Shanghai Shipping will be oriented towards digitalization, networking, and intelligentization, continue to strengthen technological empowerment, optimize the innovation ecology, and continuously improve the applications of shipping facilities, shipping services, and shipping governance. He also pointed out three areas of improvement including 1) Continue to deepen the construction of smart ports and airports 2) Strengthen standardization construction, focus on frontier areas, and provide guidance for the digital transformation of the shipping industry; 3)Accelerate international exchanges and cooperation in the field of shipping science and technology, jointly build a number of international technological innovation platforms and lead the future development of the shipping industry.



Mr. Zheng Qingxiu, Deputy director of the Water Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, delivered a speech in the forum. He claimed that The water transport industry should adhere to reform and innovation, deeply promote the digital, networked and intelligent development of shipping, and comprehensively promote the high-quality development of the shipping industry.1)Strengthen demonstration drive and promote all-round coordinated development of intelligent shipping.2) Adhere to innovation driven and create a new scene of intelligent shipping. 3)Give play to the joint efforts of various parties to strengthen the research of intelligent shipping technology.

At the end of the session on “Digitalization and Intelligence”, CCS issued a certificate of approval in principle for CNOOC Lufeng 15-1DPP digital twin solution for health management system. This is the world’s first platform installed in a water depth of 300m that equipped with digital twin solution.


In addition, CCS also verified a certificate for the AI-operated mothership - MV "Zhuhai Cloud". This ship was inspected by CCS that meeting the Smart Ship Specification, it is the world’s first autonomous ship that is  able to navigate autonomously through open bodies of water and be able to controlled remotely.
