1. UAV related R&D,
application and standard research for ship survey
UAVs , which can be
used to take photos of the hull structure and transmit HD images to the surface
monitoring end in real time for surveyors to evaluate the hull structure condition,
are particularly outstanding in reducing survey cost, improving survey
efficiency and reducing the risk of working at high altitude.
CCS has conducted research
on the development and application of intelligent UAV for ship survey and
related standards. Such UAVs can be used for various ship survey scenarios and
has significant advantages in dark and enclosed steel hull structures.
Functions such as hovering with stability augmentation, autonomous obstacle avoidance,
real-time transmission of ultra-high definition images and unlimited endurance
in circumstances of "no satellite information, no illumination and strong
magnetic field interference" have been realized.
The intelligent UAV for
ship survey developed by CCS has been applied in the close-up survey of more
than 20 oil tankers and chemical tankers.
Key technologies of
intelligent UAV and standard development for ship survey:
(1) Standard for UAV Application in Ship Survey: the proposal of "Unified Requirements for Survey
and Certification of UAV and Other RITs" has been adopted by IACS. The Guideline
for Application of UAV in Survey has been formulated.
(2) UAV cabin
environment perception and intelligent obstacle avoidance technology: UAV cabin
environment high-precision perception and modeling method based on laser radar
is proposed to achieve intelligent obstacle avoidance in circumstances of
"no satellite information, no illumination and strong magnetic field
interference", and ensure safe flight of UAV in complicated cabin
(3) UAV autonomous
fault tolerant navigation technology under complicated cabin environment:
inertia/laser radar/magnetic sensor/barometric altimeter/ dynamic model
multi-source information integrated method is proposed based on Federated Kalman
Filter framework. Robust estimation of UAV pose helps to realize comprehensive
high precision navigation of UAV under satellite denial environment.
(4) Integrated design
of UAV for ship survey: integrated design of power supply, shooting,
intelligent display control system, dynamics and structure for UAV is adapted and
intelligent UAV suitable for ship survey is developed to address long working
hours, serious electromagnetic interference in cabin, high quality requirement
for close-up survey image and UAV flight safety under complicated environment.
(5) Ship survey
simulation and data reproduction technology based on virtual reality: A
simulation and verification platform for UAV ship survey is designed, and
functions such as UAV survey plan formulation, algorithm verification and survey
image backtracking in cabin model are realized based on virtual reality
