Data Quality Assessment for Ships and Offshore Installations

To address ship data quality-related issues, CCS issued the Guideline on Quality Assessment of Ship Data to support the industry in assessing ship data quality, data management maturity and data security. CCS has also established online ship data quality assessment system and launched data quality assessment service for ships and offshore installations.

To address ship data quality-related issues, CCS issued the Guideline on Quality Assessment of Ship Data to support the industry in assessing ship data quality, data management maturity and data security. CCS has also established online ship data quality assessment system and launched data quality assessment service for ships and offshore installations.

Data quality assessment service is applicable to data retained in shipboard systems. Assessment will be made by selecting appropriate assessment indicators from the 15 characteristics and 63 measures of the data, and according to the assessment process. The assessment framework is shown in Figure 1.

Shipowners and ship management companies may apply for trial assessment of the quality of the existing data retained on ships and offshore installations.
