The YI HANG JIN ZHUANG is 124m in length, 39m in breadth, and 8m in depth. Equipped with a 142m pile frame, the pile-driving barge is enabled to drive a pile of 118 m in length (pile + water depth), 700 tons in weight, and 6 meters in diameter. It is the first super-large pile-driving barge with azimuth rudder propeller, lateral thrust auxiliary positioning and DP0 dynamic positioning system in domestic of China. It is adequate to the construction requirements under offshore severe sea conditions, especially for the construction of offshore wind power high-rise platform pile, jacket pile and large beam pile foundation, and allows hatch battening and towing in non-restricted waters. By introducing advanced intelligent ship and digital ship design concepts, its intelligent and digital construction has been available through the specially developed construction management control system.

Qidong Project Team kept close contact with the shipowner and shipyard over the whole process from the early design to the subsequent construction. The fabrication and installation of pile frame was the core of shipbuilding, since the ship's pile frame was 142m high, the total steel weight was 1300T, and all materials were DH550 high-strength steel. In terms of accuracy, the asymmetric deviation of the hinge hole of the auxiliary pile frame relative to the center of the main frame was required to be controlled within 2mm. It is easy to imagine how difficult it was to fabricate and how high the accuracy was required. Given these challenges, the on-site project team repeatedly discussed with the shipyard and the shipowner on the control of welding deformation. Through the data fitting of the welding model test, as well as the control of the operation time and operation method, the required accuracy is finally ensured.
