BYD’s First Self-built Vessel “BYD HEFEI” Surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) Was Delivered

On January 7, 2025, the first vessel “BYD HEFEI” of the 7000 dual-fuel pure car truck carrier (PCTC) series, which was constructed by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for BYD (HK) Co., Ltd. and surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS), was officially named and delivered. Zhou Liwei, Deputy General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, was invited to attend the naming and delivery ceremony.

The vessel “BYD HEFEI”, 199.90m long, 38.00m wide, with a design draft of 9.00m and a design speed of 18.50 knots, can carry 7000 vehicles, adopts a natural gas (LNG)/fuel dual fuel power system, and is equipped with a permanent magnet shaft-mounted generator. It is characterized by wide vehicle adaptability, strong cargo carrying capacity, good green energy saving, high degree of automation, etc., and meets the additional marks of CCS “G-EP (NEC2, GPR)” environmental protection and “AFD Ready 2” ammonia fuel preset, etc. It is a green, intelligent, environmental-friendly and efficient ultra-large car truck carrier.
