At the Word Ports Conference 2024, CCS Offered Suggestions for the Green and Low-carbon Transformation of the Industry

Recently, the World Ports Conference 2024 was opened in Hamburg, Germany. The conference was hosted by the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) and the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), and the major supporters include the World Bank, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the United Nations Conferences on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and other industry partners. This Conference has attracted more than 800 port and shipping professionals from 60 countries around the world, and over 90 industry experts were invited to give keynote speeches and exchange ideas.

The Managing Director of the IAPH, the Secretary General of the IMO, and the President of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) attended the event. Mr. Qin Aohan from the Overseas Technology Center of China Classification Society (CCS) was invited to attend this event. 


Qin Aohan participated in a panel discussion on “Developing New Business Models for Ports” hosted by the Managing Director of the IAPH. During the session, he had in-depth exchanges on the development prospects of China’s green marine fuel supply chain and its potential to create new business models for ports.  Drawing on China’s experience, CCS presented suggestions for advancing the green and low-carbon transformation and promoting the sustainable development of ports and shipping industry.
