China Classification Society Singapore Branch Successfully Organized Technical Seminar

On 3 July, China Classification Society (CCS) Singapore Branch jointly organized a technical seminar with the Singapore Shipowners Association (SSA). The seminar focused on the theme of "green technology", and jointly explores solutions for green and low-carbon development of shipping in the future. More than 120 participants from Maersk, East Pacific Shipping, CMA CGM, China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, Pacific International Lines, MISC, etc. attended the seminar.

The medium and long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction policies developed by the International Maritime Organization have a significant impact on ship operations and the new shipbuilding market. The decarbonization of shipping brings profound changes and great challenges for shipping itself, while also presenting different opportunities.

In this background, Qin Aohan, Technical Expert of CCS Singapore Branch, focused on the hotspots of the shipping industry and introduced to the participants the green fuel supply, alternative fuel routes options and decarbonization solutions in China; and Li Jiang, Senior Engineer of CCS, conducted a thematic lecture on the application of methanol and ammonia fuel bunkering, containment systems, supply and power systems on board. Meanwhile, Singapore Branch invited experts from Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to share the development status of green fuel bunkering in Singapore. During the Q&A session, participants actively interacted with CCS experts on hot issues.

CCS fully demonstrated its technical service capability to the Singapore maritime industry, further strengthening CCS's brand promotion and expanding its influence in Southeast Asia.
