Quite a few famous medias reported the news of the officially delivered of world's first intelligent unmanned system research mother ship ‘Zhuhai Cloud’. What worthy to mention is that the ‘Zhuhai Cloud’ awarded the first smart ship certificate from China Classification Society (CCS).

On the 12th of January, the world's first intelligent unmanned system research mother ship ‘Zhuhai Cloud’, which drawing approval and construction survey carried out  by CCS has successfully completed various sea trials, and was well delivered.

‘Zhuhai Cloud’ is affiliated with Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai),  classed by CCS, it has a total length of 88.5 metres, a moulded width of 14.0 metres, a moulded depth of 6.1 metres, a design draft of 3.7 metres, a total weight of 2548 tonnes and an economical speed of 13 knots. The ship can carry a variety of air, sea and submarine unmanned system equipment with different observation instruments, it is able to deploy in batches in the target sea areas as well as carry out task-oriented adaptive networking to achieve three-dimensional view of specific targets. ‘Zhuhai Cloud’ is the world's first intelligent research ship with remote control and autonomous navigation functions in open waters.

The use of the ship has a great significance in changing ways of traditional ocean observation methods, obtaining real-time three-dimensional ocean observation data, therefore not only to reach target of improving the efficiency and quality of ocean observation, and also provide unprecedented helps in China’s marine research, expanding area of marine technology science, ocean economy development, ocean engineering training, innovation capability in marine science and technology .
