Recently, the ceremony for delivery and naming of CUL YANGPU, the 1930 TEU container ship surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS), was held at the Longxue Production Area of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited.
Named as “YANGPU”, the international trade container ship after delivery would be a new brilliant movable “Name Card” of Hainan Free Trade Port. Transportation Department of Hainan Province, Transportation Bureau of Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan Financial Holdings Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Port Group and other relevant parties attended the ceremony. Zhou Liwei, the Deputy General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, was invited to attend the ceremony.
CUL YANGPU, the sister ship of “CUL NANSHA” delivered on May 29th this year, is the latest Wenchong 1930 TEU Bangkokmax container ship. It has a length 172 m, molded breadth 27.5 m, molded depth 14.6 m, design draft 8.5 m and design shipping speed 18.5 knots. According to its arrangement, its cargo hold is able to accommodate 10 rows in 5 layers of twenty-feet equivalent units (TEUs), and its deck can carry 11 rows in 7 layers of TEUs, with a nominal capacity of 1930TEU and the 14 t-TEU capacity of 1350TEU. The ship has a full-loaded carrying capacity of 24,300 t, flies the flag of Hong Kong, and is classed by CCS.
The oil consumption per TEU of the ship is 8% lower than the last generation, and its EEDI is higher than the phase-3 index. The series of ships are also equipped with sulfur removal devices, meeting the requirements of IMO’s global sulfur emission limitation. Thus, it is a hi-tech, environment-friendly and green container ship with high economic efficiency.
In order to fulfill the ship delivery as scheduled, CCS Nansha Survey Station actively cooperated in each task with the ship yard. The staff actively worked overtime to participate in the ship yard survey application in major works, including the shafting alignment, tilting test and engine test, and fulfilled each critical time schedule down-to-earth, and ensured the successful delivery of the ship.
