Recently, China Classification Society (CCS) was invited by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to attend a technical workshop for port state inspectors. During the meeting, CCS shared and exchanged specialized technical achievements on the technical characteristics of new energy vessels, safety risk management, operational management, and key points of on-site inspections, providing professional support for the safety supervision and risk prevention system construction of new energy vessels. The meeting was held in two sessions, with port state inspectors from the four major regions of Australia participating.
Mr.Wu Shengqi and Mr. Qin Aohan, experts from CCS Overseas Technology Center delivered specialized presentations on ammonia-powered, methanol-powered, hydrogen fuel cell, and battery-powered ships. They systematically introduced CCS-related standards, safety principles, and inspection priorities, while analyzing potential safety risks and control measures in new energy applications through engineering practices. The discussion centered on the global shipping industry's green transition, focusing on the development and regulatory framework of new energy ship technologies. Through multiple practical case studies, they systematically addressed key issues in critical systems, operational management, and risk prevention for new energy vessels.
The thematic exchange received unanimous recognition from port state prosecutors, who commended the comprehensive content and focused highlights of the session. During the meeting, port state prosecutors engaged in in-depth interactions with CCS experts, creating a lively atmosphere on site.
This event has fully demonstrated CCS's technological expertise and practical achievements in new energy ship technology, significantly advancing practical cooperation with AMSA in safety regulation for next-generation vessels. Seizing this opportunity, CCS will further consolidate their established partnership, refine collaborative mechanisms, and jointly enhance regulatory frameworks and technical standards. These efforts will provide robust support for the shipping industry's green, low-carbon, and safe development.
