Recently, the Phase II development project of the Weizhou 6-8 Oilfield, which was inspected by China Classification Society (CCS), has been successfully put into production. This marks the official integration of the Weizhou 6-8WHPB platform into the production sequence, injecting new momentum into the capacity release of the Weizhou oilfield cluster.

The Weizhou 6-8 Oilfield, located southwest of Weizhou Island, features a water injection development phase two project. Key construction elements include: a new unmanned wellhead platform; a new trestle bridge (with overhead logistics pipelines) connecting to the existing Weizhou 6-8WHPA platform; a new submarine water injection pipeline; and adaptive upgrades to the existing platform, such as adding decks, installing ballast tanks, and water injection pumps.

Since the project commenced, CCS Zhanjiang Branch has formed a joint task force with participating units to overcome challenges including rudimentary offshore accommodation conditions and typhoon impacts, ensuring efficient progress according to schedule. During construction, Ship surveyors of CCS Zhanjiang Branch  leveraged their technical expertise and extensive experience through close collaboration with project owners and teams. They closely monitored critical milestones in offshore installation and equipment commissioning, providing comprehensive services for construction inspections and certification processes. For technical issues encountered during development, CCS Zhanjiang Branch proactively offered scientifically sound solutions. Particularly during the platform wellhead pipeline reconnection and Christmas tree installation supervision phase, surveyors conducted full-site monitoring to rigorously inspect equipment quality, promptly identifying and resolving installation defects. These measures ensured robust technical support and quality assurance throughout the project.
